July 2021 Decision Making and Elite Skills Camp

This two day camp will be hosted by Ethan Khoza of Vision Driven Basketball. The camp is designed to help players make tremendous improvements in their decision making, basketball IQ, instincts, and overall success on the court. There will also be a strong emphasis on skill development such as shooting, ball handling, and finishing and truly teaching players the RIGHT WAY to get better. Ultimately, our goal is to help our players become more confident, more impactful on the court, understand the game at a higher level, and prepare them to make a big jump in their basketball ability this off-season.

Here's What Players Can Expect To Gain From This Camp:

Decision Making and Your Ability To Play The Game Instinctively

The players who can quickly and consistently make the right decisions in the heat of the moment are the players who succeed offensively. We will break down step by step how to read the defense, what you as the offensive player should be looking for, and the process to mastering it.

Develop Skills That Translate Into Games

Many players struggle seeing actual in-game results despite putting in a lot of work. We'll go through step by step how to develop the game's most important skills (shooting, ball handling, finishing, and decision making) with a reactionary and games-based approach so that you learn how to truly see in-game when the pressure is on.

Increase Basketball IQ

Through both our on-court work as well as our classroom/film session, players will be introduced to different basketball concepts and terminology that will help to expand their understanding of the game. Through our games-based approach, they'll learn not just what to do but WHY. Ultimately they will leave camp with a greater understanding of how to be successful on both ends of the floor.

Gain Confidence and an Aggressive Mentality

Through our emphasis on 0.5 decisions and having a score first mindset, players will learn how to play more assertive and aggressive, which translates to better play on the court!

Directly Improve Your Ability to Play Against Real Defenders

A lot of players spend all their time training against air. While this is good to an extent, sometimes they struggle when they have to apply what they practiced against actual defense. We will work situations facing both primary defenders as well as help defense with the goal of teaching them how to execute against real defense and to build their confidence.

Improve Your Ability In Game Situations

Throughout the weekend, players will be put into numerous game situations, situations that they find themselves in dozens of times each game. By improving their ability and basketball IQ in these situations, they will become immensely more dangerous and valuable to their team.

What Will The Camp Look Like?

DAY 1

Camp will begin with a 30 minute film/classroom session where players will learn about developing the mentality and approach of a great offensive player. They will learn how to create advantages and opportunities for themselves on the court and how to build their confidence. We will also watch some film that will contextualize the on-court drills and games we do throughout the rest of camp.

This will help give players a true understanding of WHY we do what we do and is something you will not go through at almost any other camp or clinic in the northeast (or in the country).

The rest of the first day will have a strong emphasis on skill development. Specifically, how to develop skills that translate into games. We will use a lot of reactionary and live drills to reinforce those skills so that players have a better understanding of how to develop the skills that matter.

DAY 2

The second day will be geared towards learning HOW to play. Off-ball scoring, creating advantages, and other aspects of high level players.

This is where we will begin to piece everything together and players will get firsthand experience applying all the concepts we've learned.

Camp Overview

Throughout the weekend we will do a lot of SSGs (small sided games). This is the most effective way to teach not only decision making and basketball IQ, but is extremely beneficial when building skills like ball handling, finishing, and shooting!

Overall, we believe this will be one of the most beneficial camps that players will ever attend. Our goal is to instill lessons and understanding that players can take with them going forward and use that to reach the goals they've set for themselves!

The Game Changers You'll Learn This Weekend

  • the importance of developing a score first, aggressive mindset
