A lot of players waste time working on shots that don't matter. Or they don't spend enough time working on the shots that do. If you want to be a great shooter, you have to be working on the shots that happen the most. When you get good at those shots, you'll be an extremely valuable player. Point guards typically will have to thrive in both on ball and off-ball situations, so generally you'll need to be better at a broader range of shots to be considered an elite positional shooter. These are the shots you HAVE to be able to hit!
While wings/off-ball guards may not have the ball in their hands as much as point guards, they still should be able to score on the ball. But your bread and butter at this position is what you can do OFF the ball...
Bigs/post players need to be versatile as shooters in today's game of basketball. If you can make these shots, you'll be very valuable in any offensive system.
